10,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    MSE type link: https://www.facebook.com/BirchboxUK?v=app_150794994973742
MSE does not approve of short links as they can be used to hide blocked sites plus the above will help on dupe spotting.
    Thanks.

  • Hi just to verify what you are meaning so as I know next time as I didn't quite get you. Was it the second link that I shouldn't put in? or has it always got to be only in the format as per what you posted? I normally copy and paste the url of the app but could not seem to get rid of my passing my referral details on the form to everyone as I'd already entered the comp so I copied the link from the facebook page. Thanks for your help I do get confused trying to post!

Hi,it was the second link that would have been seen as a short link & would not show on a MSE comps search. That is why I added the full app link as was done by katiel on this thread.

    Or as on here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4871358

I try & avoid having any short urls in my posts & will edit a post eg on this I have edited a conventional URL in rather than leave it as ASDA posted it to Facebook: T&Cs apply: http://!!!!!!!/1dQHWjh

    My version:
    T&Cs apply:
I hope that it all makes sense and thanks for the effort.

The forum rules ask that we not use short links :

    Why can't I use !!!!!!!, etc?
In the past sites such as !!!!!!!, !!!!!!!, Makeashortlink and others have been used to hide referral links, which we don't allow on the forum, so they've been banned.
If you want to shorten a link to post it on the forum, please use the following method:
    • Type the text - eg, "MoneySavingExpert" - that you want to display instead of the link.
    • Highlight the text with your mouse.
    • Click the hyperlink image (createlink.gif) at the top of the message.
    • A pop-up will appear asking you to enter the link you want this text to link to. Enter the link, and click OK.
    • Save your post and you'll see your link is clickable.
  • weeowens thanks for clarification. I always wondered how people did those links when they picked a word or something to represent the url. Now I know so thanks very much.
