in Credit cards
Hi All,
I have a Platinum Barclaycard with a current credit limit of £3900. It's my only credit card. Within the last 18 months this has been increased twice by Barclays (I started at £1200) but it has been over 6 months since this was last increased. I've currently got about £3500 on the card, but pay off roughly £500 per month so way above the minimum payment (I still continue to use the card though).
My question is that I tried to increase the limit online a few days ago but got a message saying that I'd need to call customer service to complete the increase. Is that a way of saying my request was declined? If I apply for a new different card, will the fact I submitted that request negatively affect my credit score? I'm not sure whether to call customer service or apply for a 0% card with a different company.
Many Thanks

They may have credit checked you. Maybe just a few questions to see why you want the increase and to know if your going to struggle if they do increase it.
Paying off £500 per month but how much are you sticking back on it? Another thread mentioned the fact other lenders may see the fact the balance never seems to decrease being an issue.
I only had a quick glance at that thread so didnt delve into it deeper.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
