500w hammer drill OK for ocassional masonary work?

    Sounds like something in between like a 700-800w hammer drill might be best for me as a bit of an 'allrounder'?

    I think 500-600 watts would be enough. Spend the extra on decent bits, engineering brick and any reinforcement in lintels will be the only things you'd struggle with.
