New BMW 5 series 'offer'
http://www.halliwelljones.co.uk/bmw-offers/details/5-series-520d-m-sport-saloon-offer
I would like peoples opinions on this is a good deal on a car.
Seems OK to me but am I missing anything glaringly making this 'deal' not so.
Thanks

Representative APR 8.5%
This would stop me dead in my tracks... :eek:0 -
8000 miles extra miles are 7.06ppm
Expensive apr, is that built into the "cash" price?0 -
I don't get who the deal would suit:
- for a company car the 520D has a low tax bracket but all the extras drive up the list price for tax
- for a private car the 8,000 mile limit makes no sense on a diesel that will be at home driving long distances0 -
Different car, but considering a few weeks ago you could have got a BMW 330d M Sport business media for £305 inc VAT on lease, 23+6 £10k mileage, and runs every 3 or 4 months at Tilson, this isn't that good a deal imo.0

As is usually the case with these offers, you can probably get a similar deal on a new car as
(a) you'll get around 10%+ off list price anyway
(b) the manufacturer finance will be at a lower APR
(c) BMW usually put in a "manufacturers contribution"0 -
Thanks for the replies, I was not sure about the APR, didnt know whether that was a good deal or not.
Maybe I should go into the dealership and look for other second hand cars to see what deals they have on them, specially as @motorguy, you say that could get discount on stated price and other better deals on that or a new car.0 -

Most BMW dealerships have used car salesmen and new car salesmen. It is not in the best interests of the used car salesman to let you see what deals are on new.
I would try another dealership, ask for an appointment with someone dealing with new cars and tell them you are about to buy used based on the offer documented from the other dealer, but wanted to talk to them first.0 -

Thanks I will do that, as are a few near to me. Very true as not going to Point me In the direction of someone else as a lost sale for used car guy.:-)0
