ive always thought as a lifelong pedestrian driving licenses should be as hard if not harder to get than gun licenses, after all theyre alot more dangerous if you want them to be, of course id see the private car banned altogether and make public transport free if i were dictator so im probably not a motorists friend really

If you really want to make us get 4 photos taken, and find someone to sign a form that we are who we say we are every five years and then pay £50.............
Wait: don't you guys with photocard licences do that now
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science

OP I think its just you, maybe you slow down so much that you think everyone else is speeding up0

I've definitely noticed this over the past few years.
I think that they want to get home quicker because the weather is so foul - a bit like you would if you were on foot. Whether it's a deliberate or sub-conscious thing, I don't know.
I just added it to the long list I have of stupid people on the roads behaving stupidly. At least if you can predict it, you can take avoiding action.0 -

Unfortunately your view means me and my rebels would have to assassinate you if you enforced those rules.

I don't need to extend my braking distances and I drive at the speed limit for the road UNLESS there are other factors (like fallen leaves, or pools of water).
You may well actually do this, but of course you should modify your driving in the rain. Braking distances are longer, which extends the safe following distance to other vehicles, and reduces the safe speed around bends including allowing for where you can only see a limited distance ahead.0 -
I might slow down slightly but to be honest rain doesn't bother me. I know my car can happily handle it and I've got premium tyres on my car with about 7mm of tread all round. It won't slide unless I really want it to.0

I agee with what you are saying, but surely every time it rains you dont have 7mm of tread0 -

This is it exactly.
It just seems to exacerbate the already aggressive attitude of drivers... they're more likely to make stupid decisions just to try and jump ahead of you 1-2 places when you meet them again at the next set of lights.0 -
Often they have just started out and their windows are obscured by rain plus their mirrors are covered with water so they ae not aware of you behind them!0

If people are all over the road, they could be avoiding puddles or standing water, or avoiding splashing a pedestrian...0
