Scanned photos onto ipad, how?

Can any one help please? I have scanned some old black and white family photographs onto my laptop. Now I want to transfer a few to my ipad mini so I can take them to an elderly relative to look at. I have never directly connected my ipad to the pc but photographs taken with my ipad appear in My Photo Stream on my pc. How can I get photographs to go the other way, i.e pc to ipad?

Get the photos into iTunes, connect the iPad to the PC and Sync it.
  • Create a dropbox account online. Install the app on your ipad, and on the laptop.

Copy the file into the dropbox folder on your PC then it's available in the dropbox app on your ipad... It's great for getting files onto an ipad

Can't you just email them to yourself and open and save to camera roll, that's what I usually do.

Plug it in to the computer and transfer them using iTunes. It's the easiest way and there's no need for extra gaff.
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?
  • The cheapest option would be to buy a B&W laser printer and a scanner bed separately.

Alternatively if you want to buy a inkjet all-in-one, you can check out Cannon printers. Here is one that I found from Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-PIXMA-MG6450-All-printer/dp/B00EVRT98M/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1390673625&sr=8-11&keywords=canon+printer

It may be a good idea to speak to Amazon whether you'll be able to get a refund if the printer fails within the warranty period. Once I got a refund from them after my earphones failed after 10 months (the warranty was for 1 year). Although the original ink from Canon is quite expensive, you can find good quality compatibles.

If don't want to buy remanufactured/compatible inks, you could buy HP printers with instant ink programme. (Here is one http://www.johnlewis.com/hp-envy-5530-all-in-one-wireless-printer-instant-ink-compatible/p797108?navAction=jump) In the instant ink programme, you pay for the number of pages you print. I think for printing 50 pages per month, it cost £2. HP claim you can cancel this programme at any time.

I use drop box and the app CloudOn enables me to open Word, Excel and photos on the ipad via drop box. Sounds long winded but trust me it's easy, has to be for me to use it.
  • You may find Flickr is better for photos i.e. more specialised for that sort of content

I just started using them, partly due to the 1TB free space on offer, plus up till now I thought stuff on there was public, but found you can lock it down just to your 'guests' - friends , family etc

Why clog up your limited phone memory

Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end
