Looking to buy a convector heater for my living room. Just need it to use whilst I'm waiting for the central heating to kick in, or when I'm in the living room & dont want/need the central heating on.
I'm not looking for something expensive or even economical, just want it pretty basic one.

If you have a Lidl or Aldi near you then try one of those stores as they often have this type of thing in amongst their 'specials'. Other than that just have a look in Argos. I'd expect to pay around £20 for a basic one.
The more expensive ones have thermostats & timers & to be honest, for about £10 extra, it's worth it in my mind. They are just so useful. I've had my convector heater for years, it's kept in a cupboard in case I ever need it in an emergency. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Have a good shop around. Often the only difference between a cheap and an expensive one is the badge stuck on.
B&Q do a 2kW one pretty cheap. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
Thanks for the replies.
Yes I have noticed that there are a number of heaters that look exactly the same just with a different makers badge on & thus a different price tag.0
