Talking to FOS now. They're starting a complaint against Rockwell, Arrow Global & Transcom!

Update: Came home today to two letters, one from Transcom & one from Arrow Global. After that sinking feeling & reading them they're pretty much what I wanted - both companies are investigating & will get back to me, however all collection activities ha ceased until this investigation is over.

Not quite the "sorry, we've made a mistake" that I wanted, but one step closer!

Isn't it funny how both companies, however, did nothing until the FOS got involved? ;)

    Funny? Perhaps.

Am I surprised? Not at all, as both are from the bottom of the DCA pond.

    Another update:

Post arrived today, this time bringing a letter from Rockwell DCA. But this is good! This letter confirms that the balance owed to Fairmile is £0 & ties in the references used by Arrow Global & Transcom! All I need now is for AG/Transcom to acknowledge this themselves & it'll be done :)

One thing, however.....if you ever wondered if these letters from DCA's were simply templates then this Rockwell letter proves it!

    It reads:
Thank you for your response to our recent letter.

We note your comments and have sought further information from our client.

We will contact you again shortly.

If you have any queries with your outstanding balance please contact our referral team on .....

    1. My last letter from them was in 2009. That's "recent"?? lol
    2. Good luck getting a response from Fairmile - they dissolved in 2012!

Anyway, looks like I'm getting there!

Just as a quick update.... I am around three weeks off of the deadline for Transcom/Arrow Global to resolve my complaint before I can send it back to the FOS and as yet I am still to hear anything from them.

Rockwell, however, seem to realise that they are running out of time with this as they are desperately trying to contact Fairmille Partnership, as stated in a very polite letter I received from them on the weekend.

Good luck with that - Fairmille have been out of business since 2012!

Still, at least this letter from Rockwell once again confirms that there is £0 on this account. Like I said above, just need Transcom/Arrow Global to admit this & chuff off!

    The waiting continues.

So as we approach the 8 week FOS complaint deadline, I finally receive a letter from Arrow Global.

It explains the process of how they acquired the debt from Fairmile Partnership LLC & how they utilise external companies (in this case Transcom) to pursue debts.

It also went on to say that, although they had identified a payment of £684 in 2009 they couldn't prove that it was made as a full & final settlement.

    However....

    Despite that...

They have decided that they will close the account & pursue the outstanding balance no more.

I'll take that as a positive result. ;)

I would just like to thank everyone on here that helped with this - either with advice or just supportive comments. Much appreciation. :)
