Price of a new window

Hi
I have one window that is in serious need of replacement. Double glazed upvc but haven't decided on openings as yet, it's about 88cm x 90cm (yes I know I'll need to be more precise than that!)
Is it possible to get a rough idea of price?
I'd like to be able to get hubby on side before contacting window companies.
Are they still notorious for never leaving once invited in?
Thanks for any help.

See if you can get a recommendation for a local firm - unlikely to get the hard sell. The one we've used just come round, measure up then pop the quote in the post.
Some national ones do have a reputation for moving in for a couple of hours!
I have no idea on cost, someone else will have a better idea, maybe £3-400???0 -
Just been through this exercise, local companies didn't use hard sell approach, all 3 quoted roughly the same so went with the one recommended from a friend - coincidentally the one I had the best "feeling" about.
I'd guesstimate £350-400 for that size, 70mm UPVC profile, K glass, "A" rated with a top opener. If the sill is <800mm from the floor it will have to be toughened glass too.0
