Sort code not recognised!

I have recently applied for a credit building credit card. However when taking my bank details, I have been informed that they cannot process my application any further, as they do not recognise my branch sort code.
After checking with my bank (Lloyds), they have told me that I do have a valid sort code, but it is not assigned to a particular branch, as the account was opened online.
Is there any way to solve this problem?

Check it here to see if valid

Thanks. I have checked my sort code using the link, and it comes up as the branch being 'digital sales'.
Is there any way round this problem? As the credit card company is refusing to accept my sort code.0 -
It should also tell you what can be done with accounts on that sort code. Mine shows
Faster Payments can be sent to this sort code.
Bacs Credit payments can be sent to this sort code.
Bacs Direct Debits can be set up on this sort code.
CHAPS Payments can be sent to this sort code.
Eligible for Cheque & Credit Clearing.
If it has all these functions then you need to tell the card provider to sort their systems out as the fault will be at their end and not a lot you can do about it.0 -
This is a situation in which having multiple bank accounts would help.
I opened my Lloyds TSB (now Lloyds) account online and my sort code was assigned to a branch. Dunno if this has changed with the split.0 -
It's nothing to do with where the sort code is allocated to.
It just means that the credit card company hasn't updated their systems to recognise that sort code. Is it a relatively new account?
The only way around it is to make a complaint to the credit card company, or try elsewhere.
(It could be to do with the format you are entering it in, e.g. 00-00-00 or 000000 - are you sure this is correct?)0
