sorry for all the threads I'm trying to get everything straight in my head
my ex is moving out over the weekend (finally) I have 3 children, 1 under 1
have been advised to claim income support. my question is can I put my claim in on Monday, the same day I hand my notice in or do I have to wait until I've had my last pay?
I get paid weekly and don't know if a week today will be my lady pay or if it'll be the week after I will find this out on Monday
if I can put my claim in on Monday ill be able to manage that first 4/5 weeks while I'm waiting for my I/s to start I will also be claiming hb and council tax benefit to help with the rent

i finished my job on the saturday and put in my claim on the monday for housing benefit/jsa(last payday was 2 weeks after i finished though it was only for one days pay due to the hours i worked and them paying up to the thursday), it was a temp job i knew damn well wasnt going to last past christmas at the post office, your last payday is irrelevant as your paid in arreears in most jobs so as long as you put on the form the day after your job ends you should be fine, if in doubt ask at the benefits office, it takes long enough for the claims to go through which is fine i understand but i dont reckon you want to increase it yourself if you can help it

Yes pay due for earnings prior to finishing work are not taken into account for I.S purposes
so make the claim Monday as long as you have cancelled WTC0
