is an unsigned PCN valid?

Hi, whilst taking my son to an NHS walk in centre on Saturday, I parked in a loading zone outside the building. After he`d been seen we left and I noticed a PCN ticket on my windscreen. I opened it that night and noticed that under where it says the date the ticket was served and which civil enforcement officer had served it, it said "signature" with a space next to it. This hasn`t been signed so, given that everything has to be correct with the ticket for it to be valid, does this mean the ticket can be challenged? Thanks in advance.

That's likely irrelevant, unless it was a council-issued ticket. (It will be a PENALTY Charge Notice if that is the case).
If it is a PARKING Charge Notice (please tell us who is named as the issuing company) then read the NEWBIES sticky thread. (Link referenced in my signature). Get informed and wait for the Notice To Keeper.
I am assuming this was England or Wales?0 -
it`s a council issued PENALTY charge notice. It was issued by a Tameside council civil enforcement officer.0

In that case get yourself over to Pepipoo. Create a post there, including scans of both sides of the PCN (redact any personal, identifiable info like the vehicle reg and PCN reference), and a photo of any signage that is relevant.

Pepipoo is best for PENALTY charges. We focus here more on PARKING charges.
