Nat West PPI.. they cannot trace my account so they say

Hi

I have not really bothered looking into PPI until now. Every day I am bombarded with calls from these PPI companies, so I thought they might know something I do not:)

The only time I ever really took out a number of personal loans and had O/D's was with Nat West between 1986 to 2003, I have now closed that account(2004 ish)

Now on the advice of many people I have been told to stay clear of PPI companies and just do it myself. This morning I rang the Nat West PPI dept and gave them the address I lived at while banking with them and the branch I banked at for near on 20 years. They informed me that they could not trace that account which is odd.

Not sure what to do now?

p.s .. I also had a mortgage with Bradford and Bingley from 1987 to 2003.. is that worth checking out also, and how?

  • You can send Subject Access Request (SAR) letters to each Bank which should provide information held by them for at least the last six years and (sometimes) more.

These letters cost £10 each, but if they return no relevant information then your complaints are over unless you have documentation in your own archive.
This is exactly all a claim company would do on your behalf...

Do you have account or agreements for these loans all I had was letters informing me of my new loan etc. Anything you may have from Nat West is useful if not send a SAR request you will have to wait 40 days and send your request recorded or proof of posting .

Bradford and Bingley sent out statements of account on a regular basis and would show any MPI as stand alone figure besides buildings insurance if you had it with them.

If you feel you were wrongly sold these insurances then make a complaint its not just a case of asking for legitimate insurance that was sold correctly. You do not need a claims handler they will take a percentage of any figure paid to you just for putting a stamp on. You provide the details to them and they are doing nothing !!!!
