Free Sky Mcafee help

Hi, downloaded the free Sky Mcafee yesterday to my new HP laptop but can't find it anywhere. If I search my computer it comes up as a file but nothing happens when I click on it, it also showed a couple of alerts but I've had no pop ups or anything. Shouldn't it show up bottom right corner on the task bar? The HP has Norton preinstalled with a 3 month trial which it keeps telling me to fully activate. The Norton does show up on the task bar. Should I uninstall the Norton, is it safe to do so if I can't actually access McAfee at present?
