New Dell E520 - 'not responding' errors and bits of screens missing - is this normal?

I have been using a new Dell E520 for around 10 days and have occasionally been getting the 'not responding' error on various internet pages when using Internet Explorer.
I have also sometimes been getting screens where various buttons or other parts of the screen are missing e.g. toolbar in Internet Explorer.
Also, even though the machine is a Core2Duo, it seems even slower than my previous P4 as programs hang before carrying out the requested action.
Is this all normal so soon into the life of a new machine or have I got a duff machine?

what are the full specs of you computer and what operating system are you using (XP home or vista),
you will get 'not responding' error a few times using vista/xp, once are twice a month if your unlucky , put things missing is no you should not get .
a Core2Duo is better than a p4 buy a lot .
i would say it's a bad install of windows to start with put i mite be wrongthere or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff0 -

Do you have McAfee installed? If so, try turning off the Anti-Phishing Filter. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

I’m at Dell Headquarters in Austin, Texas and I just came across this thread. Is the problem only happening in IE or in other programs as well? Also, did it begin right out of the box or after a period of use?
