Hi everybody I needed some advice I am having my bathroom done by a company and supplying the toilet, basin and wall tiles my self but they have said to me that when they take off the existing tiles on the wall if any plaster comes off they will charge me (£75/m2 and the size of my bathroom to be tiled is 10 square meter.
So if all the plaster come off in the bathroom while taking tiles off that will mean 10*£75 = 750 please correct me if I am wrong but its just to much money. Thank You

To be fair removing tiles won't be easy
Plastering materials aren't dear £5 a bag
The cost is labour one man for a day £150
And delay to the project while it dries etc
If they are going to charge you £750 it s in their interest to make a mess
Can you prep room in advance or have an agreement that you will sort out plastering yourself ?0 -
Having just removed some tiles. It was easier to remove the plaster board and re board and skim as we weren't having tiles back on.0

So is it a reasonable price then.0

No I would say £200 for days work if they took 2 days £350 but that's stretching it0

We had 3 walls plastered in the kitchen after removing the floor to ceiling tiles, roughly 12m2 including patching up some fairly large holes. Total cost was £180, and it took 2 of them 3 hours.0

So basically they are trying to rip me off.0

As a nice little comparison for you - B&Poo charge a minimum of £185 and then £40 per sq meter.

SOME plaster is very likely to come off, so you could end up paying £750 just for filling a few small holes.
I would get another contractor to do the job.0
