Question : What are your aspirations for the future?

I think they may be more suspicious of you if you claim that you be happy in a 'lesser' role for the rest of your working life. I would say that you want to get back to the level where you were but are understand that you have to start again and work your way back up by showing how committed etc you are.
Why is there no room for promotion within the company, unless you are applying to be the managing director I can't see how this is?
Good luck. I hope it goes well for you.0 -

Ok sent and done. Used some of ableandy ideas - can only hope now I get an interview but they have recently taken over a company I once applied to so I bet of they clock that I will go no further. We’ve had to remove your signature. Because I know the company and I know the next step up would be Management Accountant.
Sometimes a person can know too much!! How do you know that in the future they are not planning to expand and will be looking for an additional member of staff to fit between the role you are applying for and the above.
I can see where you are coming from, its a hard one. If you really think they are looking for an answer that means you are happy to stay at the 'lesser' role, then how about saying your aspirations are to be happy in life working in a role you enjoy but without having the added pressure of the stress of your previous role.
EDIT: sorry cross posted I see you have done it. Good Luck0 -

Under more stress now with no job to be honest.
