in Credit cards
Hi
I have had a Co-op member’s credit card for year and have enjoyed getting my cash back from them. However I looked at my cash back this week and it looked wrong.
When I took the card out I was certain that the rate was 2.5%, but my calculations showed 0.5%. So I looked on their web site and I stated it was 1p for every 1£ spent not 2.5%.
So I would like to know I anyone knows if it was 2.5%, and if so can they change it?
I did go in to their bank to see if I still got cash back due to their problems and was told that there was a contractual agreement with this card so they could not stop the cash back.
If it should be 2.5% can I get back what is owed to me, if not what can I do?
Thanks for any help.

As far as I'm aware it's always been 0.5% and maybe 1% in co OP stores and associated businesses.
Unless you have something to prove different you aren't going to get very far with claiming anymore.
I have this card but only use it where I can't use better cards like the luma cashback or the amex everyday card.0 -
I have had co-op and smile cards over the past 15 years, but none at present.
AFAIK no co-op card has never been at 2.5% cashback. There isn't enough profit in merchant fees to give that level of cashback on an ongoing basis. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
