Car Insurance - A success story

A bit of good news for a change.
My car came up for renewal with Lloyds. they wanted £340 up front or £405 on monthly DD. Ouch. Went online to Lloyds and managed to get £240. Phoned them up but they could only offer me £270 ! go figure.
Not a bad saving but I thought I could do better so, I followed the car insurance link from this site to moneysupermarket and bingo, managed to get exactly the same cover (protected NCB, £200 excess etc) with Admiral for £177. That's half what Lloyds wanted. And at that price I can pay it all in one go so no interest.
Well happy.
Thankyou MSE

Anyone else managed to save this much or more ?

I am not saying you are wrong to shop around, but take care with cheap car insurance. You only find out how "good" the company is when you need to make a claim."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
