We are trying to claim for a mis sold holiday club membership for which we have all the documentation, including details of the the credit card we used. The card company has asked for written proof from our bank that we used the card. We contacted the bank and it seems they have the information but have refused to help as they are not obliged to because the transaction was more than 5 years ago.
Please can anyone suggest where we go from here?

Send the bank a Subject Access Request (SAR) letter, which might provide the details you require.

This will cost £10, but if it returns no relevant information your complaint is over...0
