Samsung repair men broke my TV

That's what I meant by "reasonable"- it seems reasonable regarding a service such as repairs that they don't leave the TV in a worse condition than they found it by breaking the screen and making it completely non-functioning when it was functioning as a TV before.0

The screen could well have been in a state where the slightest disturbance was enough to to kill it.
Working just fine until it was disturbed.
In my line of business we deal with customers that have PCs running 24/7
We know that some of the older stuff will die if we power them down, working perfectly normally until we do a re-boot.
30% of the old kit will die like this.
Fortunately, we know about the issue [a cap dies in the power supply] so we go armed with replacements.
Point is, just because it was working fine when left undisturbed, doesn't necessarily mean it's up to being pulled apart.
Whether or not Samsung should cover that, I dunno but to say the repair man broke your TV is speculation rather than fact.Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -
You are completely wrong as Trading Stanards do take individual complaints.
I am not confused with the sale of goods act.
I quoted the trades descriptions act when I had a problem with Argos, who gave me a new cooker!
They probably just wanted to get you off the phone and close the matter - if a customer at my old job started babbling on about irrelevant legislation I'd often just agree and give them what they wanted.
Especially if it was close to home time.0 -

Yes. Basic breach of duty of care.
Write to Samsung stating the TV was working, and is now broken due to the actions of their repair men. As such you require them to make good the damage they have caused.0
