Traveling to Australia

Options
My son who is 24 is planning to travel round Australia for 12 weeks in a couple of months time. At the moment he does not have a credit card and has never applied for one. He has a current account with nat west out of which he pays his pension ( self employed)' mobile phone and car insurance monthly.

What would you advise him to do regarding a credit card, I am wondering if he applied would he only get a low limit if accepted. Would it be a possible option to ask for an additional user card on my post office card?.

Any tips or help would be appreciated

This has never been a problem for any CC, although many allow only one additional cardholder.

it will depend on PO rules. halifax will allow another user other than a spouse/parter as D D is a user on my acct along with DH. However M&S would only allow DH/Partner.
