Frequently Asked Questions
So what's this competition all about?
Peter Jones is offering you the chance to own part of the winning Tycoon company. All you need to do is enter the competition on this site, provide some contact details and sign up to our terms and conditions and you will be entered into the draw.
What’s the prize?
The prize is shares in the winning Tycoon business. 25% of the Company will be sliced up into 2,000 equal prizes and allocated to competition winners.
What does it mean to be a shareholder in a business?
It means that you have an opportunity to share, financially, in the fortunes (or misfortunes) of that company. You can sell the shares you win or if the Company does well, it may decide to pay dividends. You should however be aware that the value of shares can go up as well as down.
How much will the prize be worth?
Shortly after you’ve received your shares, the winning company plans to join a stockmarket, called Sharemark. Sharemark will provide a value for your shares. Share prices are set on Sharemark through an auction. People who want to buy shares enter "bids" and those who want to sell shares enter "offers". When the auction takes place, Sharemark looks at what "bids" and "offers" there are and calculates a share price. You will be able to follow the share price by visiting www.sharemark.com , calling 01296 41 42 43 or through your share account with The Share Centre at www.share.com
