Is it worth changing from EDF?

So im on EDFs price freeze until March 2017. Pay £70 a month D/D so £35 to each gas and electric.
I was on martins energy thing and never had any email to say change. I logged on and done a search and it says i can save up to £140 a year but for the companies (had poor feedback). Can go with others and save up to £60 a year. My thing is :
On comaprison sites -
1. Is it better to use what you use rather than what you pay?
2. Is it easy to do this?
The best deals are like fixed until march 2015 etc. I think i would be mad to switch to a deal with less of a freeze. Im in a deal till 2017.
Would you stay or switch?

You need to put kWh per year into the comparison sites, anything else will give a misleading figure. Your annual prediction will be on your bill or by adding up your bills if you have been in the property for a year or more. The advantage of long fixes is that you know what you will pay up to 2017, it is unlikely to be cheaper. For me that tariff is 25% dearer than I am paying now, the cheapest 1 year fix is 10% more, the cheapest 2 year is 12% more than current, taking the 2 year will probably work out cheaper over the long term but I could be in for a nasty surprise at the end of the 2 years. I would always take the longest of the cheap rather than the longest, a gamble I am willing to take and has always worked for me in the past.0
