Recommendation for a hotel in London please

Take a look at Central Croydon there are several hotels within 5 to 10 minutes of East Croydon station and British Rail to Victoria is a fast 15 minutes. Croydon itself has lots of facilities and shops as well as an excellent theatre. No congestion charge and you could certainly find cheaper parking than Central London and of course no congestion charge. Both hotels and short stay apartments are available near the station. Yes it is south of London but May work for you.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

That's true- it's the opposite side of Londom from where you'rfe coming.
If you're still coming by car, to break up your journey for cheap petrol/meals Tesco's Carlisle, Sainsbury BamberBridge Preston are all good and minutes from the M6.
I've never had an easy journey on the M1 and would recommend the M40 if possible, in which case Tesco Shirley off the M42 and Banbury Tesco off the M40 are good fuelstops. The M6 Toll's worth the money, cos life's too short. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
I'm sure locals will correct me if I'm wrong, but King's Cross isn't in the congestion charge zone. There are also some good, secure local parking options available from Parkatmyhouse.com, if the hotel parking is ruinously expensive. I've used a couple of them myself, without needing to pay the congestion charge.import this0
