hi all advice appreciated esp from the trade
got a car, worth couple of grand, still a grand and a bit on hire purchase. Don't want the same finance company for next motor hence my dilemma.
- have the cash to settle this instantly if I get a part ex on a new car but not prepared to use this cash if I don't get a part ex deal.
so my question is this - if I have the resource to settle the HP in one phone call, can I effectively get the part ex agreed at the new dearlership, cross the road make cheeky phone call to my old finance company, buy it, then cross back+ do the deal on the new car?
Thanks in advance
Andy

Why not just let the dealer sort out paying off remaining finance as part of the deal?0

^ Agreed, I would let the dealer know about it and see if they can sort it. Car dealers will work quite hard for your business so I would try and barter as much as possible0

thanks chaps, that's a lot more straightforward approach - wasn't aware they did it. next issue is getting to the car I want to buy !
all best
