Debt cleared on CCJ - need advice

I will try and keep it simple, I got into debt with severn Trent water, I missed payment plans etc. my debt incurred a CCJ

The debt has been paid off each week without missing a payment and I'm actually finally in credit with severn Trent before my next bill is issued.

However, I believe this is the reason I can't get anything on finance.

I have read that I can obtain a certificate of satisfaction that can be passed onto credit reference agencies.

My dilemma is I can not find the original paperwork in respect of the CCJ.

I'd like to at least try and get something to show I have cleared debt and kept up with payments. I've worked so hard to keep in good credit with various companies, clearing balances rather than minimum payments etc etc.

I feel great I'm actually debt free.

I have no credit cards, I have 3 mobile phone contracts ( myself and teen daughters) all paid on time no issues, I own nothing to catalogues and in credit with any I have. All bills on time and up to date. ( it feels great)

Any advice on what to do would be appreciated.

Check your credit file and/or the registry trust. One one or both of those it should tell you a court and ref/case number for the CCJ to quote when requesting it is marked as settled.

  • Thanks :) so where is best to go for credit file. I have never checked the actual file, I just used power of elimination to know what the issue was lol

A CCJ should appear on any credit file from Experian, Equifax or Callcredit.

https://www.noddle.co.uk is free access to a snapshot of your Callcredit report, so perhaps try that first.

If for some reason not on there then perhaps the £2 statutory report from Experian.
