Hi
i just checked the land reg papers all i can find is that 'nor shall any act or thing be done or permitted to be done nor any animals articles or things to be brought or permitted to be brought or kept or placed upon the propertyor any parts thereof which might be or become a nuisance or annoyance to the adjoining property or to the neighbourhood'
so im not sure if that means no chickens???!!
I would think or hope that it would mean that a few quiet chickens would be ok?“most people give up just as they are about to achieve success”If you think you are going through hell keep going - Sir Winston ChurchillIf You Can't Change It, Change the Way You Think About It.SW, 13st5lb, -4 1/2, -1,(12st13.5lbs)0 -

Any Chance, I'd speak to the neighbours and as long as they all agree that a couple of chickens won't be a nuisance to them then, technically, you aren't bringing anything onto the property that could cause a nuisance, as they have already declared that they wouldn't, if you see what I mean. The wording in the deeds could cover anything - barking dog, cat that digs neighbour's garden, parrot screeching, security light that reflects in someone else's window etc...
My guess is that if the neighbours have nothing to complain about then you'd be ok. LOL Just don't get duped into having a cockerel.

I haven't checked my title deeds (not sure where they are) but have asked neighbours and they seem fine with it... so hopefully that should be OK?

Edmund, you'll need to get a piccie of the new hen house so we can see it. I have just ordered one so I can split the Pekins up into what's staying and what's going. Hope it gets here this week
Natalie, now you know why I laugh when anyone hens don't ever make any noise. I have at least 4 that are very loud around laying time and next door across the field has one as well. They always set off the cockerels, too. :rotfl:It's like egg alert sirens.I reserve the right not to spend.

At the risk of sounding dim, how do I go about checking what is on my title deeds, as i thought you only received them once the mortgage is paid off in full (a very distant dream, I'm afraid!)?
I was just thinking that it would be perhaps a good idea to check there are no restrictions against keeping chickens ...I enjoy a pint of beer each night for it's health benefits. The other pints are for my witty comebacks and flawless dance moves.0 -
