She's probably been dust bathing. Chickens love a good duck and roll0 -
Thanks daisy_darling for your tips. Will give those ideas a go and let you know how I get on. Do you get Ivermec at the vets or a pet shop?
Oh redpete that’s awful.
HeatherintheHills, it sound like I am going to have to get a large stock of disinfectant too, thanks. I have seen the smite one in Jollies pet shop, will stop there after school run.
I think I have discovered a new problem with the hen house. With all the rain, there seems to be a small leak. I will investigate in the day and if need be, will empty the watering can over the top just to see.
I have just found this link. Is this really advisable?

Has anyone done this before? 0 -
The guy had more on him than the chicken.:rotfl: I find it is a 2 man job one to hold and one to powder. I have only to get out the lice powder and I don't see mine for dust. I've tried putting some in my hand first but I think they can smell it.0

Farm supplies might sell it, ours are licenced for quite a few different medications, but i get it from our vets.0 -
When we tried to get Ivermectin, we made the mistake of saying it was for the chickens. As it's not licensed for them, they refused to sell it to us unless we had a prescription from the vet. It's also pretty expensive, the smallest amount was over £30.
Frontline for cats can be used, just half a pippette per bird.
Redpete, sorry to hear about your girls.
Our chicks are growing! And, we have a duckling! Only one hatched, but it's sooooooo cute, even cuter than the chicks! You can see a pic here.0 -

Not sure quite why but that bird swinging around in the bag made be laugh, and I'm still chuckling.
