Hi all
While cleaning I have found one very old HSBC credit card statement dated January 2000. On the statement there is a debit of £10 and in the description it states Cardguard regular payment.
I have no idea how long I had the card or how long I would have made those payments. Is this something I can claim back? I bank with HSBC so they should still have all the details?
Any help would be appreciated

http://www.hsbc.co.uk/1/2/insurance/card-guardCard Protection Plan Limited administered the CardGuard protection policy on behalf of HSBC. CardGuard is not a Payment Protection Policy (PPI).
The FCA has confirmed that some policies may have been mis-sold.
The FCA has undertaken a review of CPP's sales practices of card protection and identity theft insurance products. This has resulted in the FCA fining CPP and discussing with them a customer redress programme.
In most circumstances a customer would not be asked to pay for any fraud committed on their cards, in explaining the Card Protection product offered by CPP the fraud protection information may have been misleading or overstated.
What about my premiums before 2005?
In the period as far back as 1985 we are confident that the product literature was not flawed in the same way as it was post 2005 and for a substantial time sales were undertaken by ourselves rather than CPP.
If we felt that this was the case we would be proposing compensation in a similar way for premiums before 2005.
However we will always assess complaints or enquiries received concerning products and services which we have provided.0
