Really, I didn't know that. Are you sure - I wouldn't want to try it incase it didn't work.:p
Definitely worked again today. Got to the checkout and the final sum quoted was £21-something but I knew the actual sum was over £25 so produced the voucher and ended up paying £16-something. :T0 -
I bought the 2 meal deals Friday. There were only 2 smallish chickens left in the meal deal section. So I went to the chicken section where all the medium chickens were. They were all priced at £5 and showed a weight of 1.5 kg, however they show different cooking times ergo the longer the time needed the bigger the chicken. I saw 1hr 35 min cooking timed chickens and then picked the biggest. At home it weighed 1.8 kg.
Also bought the cod in tom sauce and it was lovely, lots of cod.Still virtually alcohol free since 4/1/15. (10 Xmas/ New Year/Birthday drinks)

I am still not convinced if these deals are any good.
But then there are only two of us.0 -

Well, there's only one of me. You can do the sums quite easily and work out if it suits you. I generally find I can get at least 4/5 generous meals out of one of their chickens (freezing some for later use), plus making stock from the bones. That's if I'm not having friends around for lunch or dinner. But anyway, I do find the offer worth having, I just always make sure I get the best deal with my choice - some of them aren't so good.0 -
I always buy a meal deal when the chicken is on. I'm veggy so treat other half to some meat, a decent size chicken can do him 4 teas , plus a pan of chicken and veg soup. Works out well, and he always appreciates a bit of meat.RIP Floyd - 19/04/09. I know i'll see you again my best friend forever.

I noticed this post today.
In my local M&S I asked a question about their meal deal . . 'what if one of you is a vegetarian, what do you do?
Store manager answer . . . 'buy 2 meals, 1 for meat eaters and 1 for vegetarian.'
So I contacted M&S head office over a year ago, and still waiting for an answer.
I wonder, if there's a problem in the 21st century . . . we can't do meat and veggie meals as a duo, rather than have a split meal family pay double, or miss out on a good deal [or is it?] :wall:0 -

Tesco and Sainsbury's are the same, they just cater for the meat eaters.
You could buy a vegetarian option to cook alongside the meat option OR you cook your own meal from scratch ( depending on thetime ).0
