Some of them have * next to them what does that mean please?
it's Ok I looked on the site here
    http://www.marksandspencer.com/Delicious-Offers-Offers-In-Store-Food-In-Store-Food-Wine/b/198933031
and the * refers to selected stores only

also what do people recommend to get for £10... I'm thinking the whole chicken is a good bet but what else?

Chicken is always our favourite, along with profiterole stack (enough to feed 2 adults and 2 small children with some meat left over for a curry/pasta dish) - tend to choose the most expensive veg side (although found the garlic mushrooms a bit tasteless and wouldn't buy them again) and a red wine coz we like red! Usually save around £7-8 I think.

You need to get to the fridge soon after it is stocked. I find a great variation in the weights and unsurprisingly the larger ones go first. Sometimes the last few left aren't worth buying.

I couldn't find it posted either - are they trying to hide it?

I think that the OP was saying that no one had posted details on this forum not that M&S had not posted details.

The information is on M&S Website but you have to drill down
    From the home page select
    Food&Wine
    Food In Store
    Offers In Store
Scroll down about 2/3 of the page and select Dine In For Two.

The offer doesn't start until tomorrow so perhaps it will be more prominent then.

Update: Still not prominent but I now notice that it is possible to go from near the bottom of Food In Store directly to Dine In For Two. I'm not sure if that's a change or simply that I missed it yesterday.

    Direct route.

Yes, you're correct alanq, I misread the original post. But the point I made is fair - they used to 'headline' the offer on the website, now you really have to search for it. And it isn't any more prominent today.

Anyway, more to the point, I got mine this morning and may go back for a second one tomorrow, since I still have a £5 off voucher if you spend £25 and they count the individual cost of the items towards the £25. So it makes it an even better deal.

You can sometimes find larger chickens in the main chicken section rather than the Dine In display, just make sure you're looking for the same item.

Yes, it worked for me today. And as I was given two of the voucher leaflets, I've still got one so I may well use it tomorrow.

Beware of doing this though as the same product may have a different barcode when in the usual fridge. I discovered this some time ago when I could only find very small chickens left int he Dine In section and took one from the main fridge. The till wouldn't let it go trhough as part of the £10 deal.
