  • Thanks jimjames.

I think the first step is to realise ones risk areas and work upon it. Taking risk when you can. For me. Whilst it's always difficult to say, I am happy that no big expenditure is going to come up. Should it then I will have a little cash towards it along with maybe the need for a 0% card.

It's nice to hear that my finances aren't completely off the wall!

I just see little point in holding cash. It can be used better in other areas.

A few clicks of the 'thanks' button for the good advice you've received so far would clearly demonstrate that :)

Not really, the lack of any cash emergency fund has been raised and you don't feel this is an issue.

Many would consider a decent portfolio of individual shares to consist of twenty to thirty shares and for dealing costs to make sense you'd maybe need fifty grand or more for this to be worthwhile.

You've chosen a core of well spread tracker funds with individual shares, many would prefer the shares to be replaced by funds in areas such as small companies, emerging markets, commodities etc.

It's all personal choice really, unless you have any more specific questions then I'm not sure what others might usefully add.

I agree with the above replies. Your cash fund is too low, and you are thinking of moving from single shares to funds (probably wise).

And you need to thank those who gave advice before expecting more.
