Another Peel Street Casualty

[FONT=&quot]I too have become a casualty of this. I received a 'Parking Charge Notice' in the post, explaining that I was 'allegedly breaking the car park terms and conditions in the Privately Operated Car Par at Peel Street Centre - Stockport'.

This was a surprise, because not only was I not aware that I had parked in a private car park, after visiting the KFC, there was no ticket placed on my car. There was no immediate recognizable signage in view, and It was dark and at 5.15pm, I would have thought there should have been an attendant in operation if it was a 'Private' car park.

The two 'pictures' they have allegedly took, do not display where I was supposed to have parked 'illegally', and could have been taken anywhere, if indeed they have been 'taken' at all.

I have visited many out of town shopping centre’s in many parts of the country, and very rarely found any charging for parking, the ones that do, only charge after the first hour or two.

I do not advocate ignoring any 'legal' correspondence, but what can be done about this obvious rip off.

In the linked thread you will see how frustrating it is to have to keep dealing with the Peel Centre cases to the detriment of others. The point being even if you had not spotted the 'NEWBIES READ THIS FIRST!' sticky thread shouting at you at the top of the forum to read it first, surely newbies can easily spot the dozens of Peel Centre threads already on the forum merely in January alone? You can see at least three Peel Centre threads right now on page 1, 2 and 3 of this forum and if you search for the keyword 'Peel' you'd find even more. I do realise you posted on one - so you found one of the thousand or so about the flippin' Peel Centre - but still the sticky threads were overlooked.

We can't keep repeating the same basic stuff, can't keep responding to 'what can I do?' when the stickies already tell everyone what can be done, step by step. That's why the sticky threads are there at the top. Please also do the search I mentioned for the keyword 'Peel' before we all self-combust.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Two threads merged as they appear to be the same issue.
