HELP...

I cerrently work as a middle manager for a retail store and want to change my career direction due to me seeing no fulfillment from my current path.
As it stands I am on sick leave from work due to depression. I am in my third week of 8 weeks full pay. Once this full pay finishes I will quite my position to release my owed holiday pay.
The depression is caused by a number of factors, one being the hours and stress my current role dictates.

I will begin university in September.

I am married with a child aged 2.
My wife works pt at minimim wage 24 hours per week.

We have necer received benefits other than child benifit before.

My question is what help am I likely to recieve whilst:

Out of work

As a student (grants snd loans total 7k.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What do you plan doing between when you quit your current job and when you start at University ?

If you plan on seeking a job, you can claim JSA, although you may suffer some sanctions for voluntarily quitting your existing job.

Yes I can start self employment at any time. Just waiting until my full sick pay runs its course.

I have, but my councils calculator is out of date. It states that with my student income of 7k and my partners of 8k we would receive 72 per week towards rent and 14 per week towards ct.

If thid is accurate happy days. But how do I ensure an accurate figure?

Have you tried the "turn2us" site and calculator?

That should give you accurate figures.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)
