Credit file date anomaly

I held a MINT(RBS) credit card from 2000 until 2006 when I was unfortunately made redundant. I was unable to keep up my payments and I believe they sent me a default notice (which I have mislaid)
I tried to make token payments for a while but was unemployed and not able to keep this up.
In March of 2008 I was advised to set up an IVA but my creditors would not agree on a figure of £200 per month, insisting that the payment was set at £300. After about a year I stopped paying as I just couldn't afford to pay my bills and the IVA.
My credit file now shows that the IVA record will be removed in March 2014 (6 weeks from now) but the Mint card record says it won't be removed until September 2015.
I have not had any contact or correspondence with Mint since 2007 and since their debt was included in the IVA I believe it will be statute barred in March also (if it isn't already)
Is there any way I can find out if a default notice was issued in 2006 or if the debt should be removed from my credit file?

If the debt was included in an IVA then that is the very latest date a default should be entered on to your credit record.
Entering an IVA is irrefutable evidence of the account having defaulted.
You could write to the creditor/debt collector whose name is on your credit file to dispute the entry and ask them to correct your file.
However obviously in doing so they will likely start chasing for the remainder of the debt. If you are hoping not to pay the debt and that it will become statute barred then you may wish to wait until it is statute barred before you dispute the entry.I have not had any contact or correspondence with Mint since 2007 and since their debt was included in the IVA I believe it will be statute barred in March also (if it isn't already
If you were paying in to the IVA until around March 2009 then the debt won't become statute barred before 6 years from when you stopped paying.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
