Welcome Finance help claiming back PPI

Options
I'll try and keep this as uncomplicated as possible.
I took out a loan with Welcome Finance around 2003 and the added two loans on top of this over the few years that followed. Last year I started proceedings through a PPI reclaim company to get the ppi back however was told the company were no longer trading and they would not be able to process any claim before a certain year (unsure which year they said). I would now like to go solo and try and do this myself but dont know where to start! As they are no longer trading? what do I do? who do I write to ? which forms do I fill in? Im really struggling with this any advice would be great. Thanks

  • Sorry I should have said also that this loan was then paid off in full in 2008 as I sold my flat. The redemption figure was around £23,000 so you will understand why I would like to persue this as I feel I have been taken for a mug!

The claims company use the same process that you would use. So, if your complaint is pre-regulation against a company that is no longer trading, who do you intend to complain to?

You dont. The FSCS only handle complaints about companies in default where the sale took place after Jan 2005.

Welcome are still there, just no longer lending.

If you want to make a complaint about a PPI they sold you before January 2005, contact them at their Ruddington address.

But the OP has already employed a Claims Company to make the complaint. If he wants to "go it alone", the OP needs to ensure that the legally binding contract he's signed with the CMC allows him to do so. If not, any redress (should he win) will still be subject to the CMC's fee.
