I have used one paid for call via BT in the last year. And I will be leaving them completely when my present contract end in the summer, due to their ever increasing charges.
...unfortunately they are all as bad as each other.....I'm with Plusnet with included weekend and evening calls, the occasional daytime call which I have to make, would be outrageously expensive if I didn't use 18185.
My OH forgot to use 18185 a few weeks ago and we got stung nearly £2 for a 20 minute conversation with my SIL!!:(0 -
Not quite all. Zen for one doesn't charge it see http://www.zen.co.uk/home-office/voice/call-rates.aspxAll the networks have a connection charge now.
Anyone know any others?0 -
Anyone know any others?
The Phone Coop http://www.thephone.coop/help-and-support/landlines/call-costs/#callerplus
On their caller plus tariff have no connection charge/set up fee ,second billing, small minimum call charge of 1.2p a minute.0 -
I must admit this did catch me by surprise, hence why I googled it, I never remember seeing a connection charge before.
Another way of getting money I guess0 -
which then went up to two and a half old pennies in 1970 and was rounded up to one new penny when decimalisation arrived in February 1971.
Wouldn't it have been rounded down from 2.5 old pennies to 2.4?0 -
Just goes to show how many people just don't read what they are signing up to, or what their supplier advises them after the event - then of course, years later, when they finally notice - it becomes a "rip-off"!!0

if this is additional to your 'main' phoneline with broadband etc, you could get a Voice over IP service for the office number.
Sipgate Basic is free, calls to landlines are 1.2p / minute. If you want to keep the BT line number you can 'port' it into a VoIP provider - not Sipgate Basic, but other products or providers - usually a fee of about £20 applies.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
