I always used my old one with the yeast going in first d never had any problems, I pretty much always made bread overnight. We finally finished the last loaf I made today! I have put a loaf on tonight so will see in the morning how it turns out.

The result this morning was a nice, well risen, evenly cooked loaf!

OH MY GOD THOUGH! The yeast dispenser was so noisy it woke us up, and then of course because we were awake we could hear the kneading.! I really don't know what to do now because I always made my bread overnight, I think if I went for another brand I would be disappointed, I guess I'll just have to make it during the day and have it ready for when I get home from work!

That's what I do, plus I like to keep a couple of loaves in the freezer. They freeze very well.

Regarding the noisy yeast dispenser, it might be worth reading up on reviews of the machine to see if there are any suggestions for quietening it. I know it's been commented on in the past, I've read that some people have disabled theirs, though not a good idea if still under guarantee.

If it's not too late, personally I would make the bread putting the yeast in the machine and see what happens, can't see any reason why it would not work the way older models did

I have gone back to putting the yeast in first and I've had some really nice loaves out of it now. I wanted to waste a loaf by trying the dispenser again in case it goes wrong!
  • Bread Tips
Use metric scales more accurate, consistent results
Use ml’s, not fl ounces ditto
Scatter flour into pan don’t compress it
    Keep yeast & salt separate.
Water last. Water aids rising, so try adding extra, 1tbsp at each loaf, until you find the best “rise”. Also, a vitamin “C” tablet aids rising.
You can open the breadmaker for short periods without any problem as long as it is not in the last 50min or so, when it is baking.
After last “stir”, (at about 1hr 35 min left in ours) I remove the pan, & after wetting my hand, and tipping the pan onto its side, remove the paddle. This stops the tearing of the bottom of the slices. You can always mark the drive under the pan with a felt tip, to show which direction the paddle points. You’ll know which way to tip it then. If the bread has a large “rise” & you don’t want to disturb it, point the paddle East-West so it doesn’t spoil so many slices.
Now shake the pan to settle the dough & paint the top with water, & sprinkle sesame seeds over it, packing plenty along the sides where the dough touches the pan. They will stick to the sides as the dough rises. Repeat 10 mins later if you like..

If available, I use fresh yeast. About 12g per 550g of flour. Free for the asking at Asda. Never any problems with the two Panasonic breadmakers that I've owned.
