Vanquis/Granite Credit Card!!

I really need some help with this!! To cut a long story short, I received a text bill reminder about 3 weeks ago, with an amount to pay, which was at the time a bit too much for me to pay in one lump sum. Anyway, I chose to do a Promise To Pay(with this option they give you a 2 week grace period beyond the due date) option on their site, instead of the usual Pay My Card, which I have always done religiously and paid the full amount, usually in installments, they request, as I was at the time sorting out some problems with my bank account of which the debit card I use to pay my Vanquis/Granite Credit Card is linked to. Anyway, last week, I was able to pay half of the full amount, of which I did( I often do that anyway). The thing is, they actually called me up on my mobile phone on Monday(20th January), asking me if I could pay the remaining amount, which I did. Fast forward 24 SHORT HOURS later to Tuesday(21st January) evening, I get yet another text bill reminder to pay yet another amount, which is WAY above any amount that I have ever paid them, £84.17 to be exact!!

I have never had any trouble with Vanquis/Granite in the past, but this is WAY out of line!! I cannot afford to pay this amount, even in installments!! I am only on ESA right now!! I really havent got a clue what to do!!

Am I obligated to pay this amount?? What is the best course of action that I should take??

Thanks!!;);)

    Interest?

That's why you should have a credit card while on benefits. and these types of cards should be paid in full every month, without fail.

Yes I might be wrong but I think you get charged interest on a promise to pay. Phone them and check... Then pay it off as soon as you can and STOP using it, if you can't afford it.
    Oh, you wee bazza!
