can't print wirelessly

i've eventually connected my printer to wireless using wpa, problem was firewall not even the people at brother ( i have brother printer dcp-340cw) told me that i asked it myself and they said it could be:rolleyes:
anyway a couple of questions i have a netgear dg834g v3 but can't get the bloomin printer to print...i've put the ip address of the printer in router hopefully its the correct one:o and also not sure how to work the firewall on the router do i put my printer ip address in the inbound or the outbound
and also is it safe to switch of windows firewall if the routers firewall is running
this has been a total pain im my !!! for the last four weeks
i feel like giving up someone please help
