PIR light oddity

I've just replaced the bulb in my outside PIR lantern after the last one broke... and, to my amazement, the new one immediately lit up on being screwed in and has stayed on ever since, despite it being broad daylight.
It's only supposed to light up for a short period if it detects movement during darkness hours.
I can't work out what's going on. Can anyone help?

Some of these devices have adjustable settings (little screws/wheels).
Mine has 3
1) how dark does it have to be to operate?
2) How sensitive is the motion detection?
3) Once triggered, how long to leave the light on?
Does yours have these? Have they been accidentally adjusted?

No accidental adjustment. I have not changed anything. Why is the light on continuously in the daylight? Bizarre.0 -
Try turning off the light at the switch or power source for a few minutes.
Then turn the power source back on.
The light should come on for maybe 5 minutes then go back to normal operation.......hopefully !!

Do you have the original instructions?
Some of these lights have silly sequences of on-off switching to select between on all the time/dawn to dusk/motion detect.
You may find it by trial and error.
eg turn on. turn off/on again within a couple of seconds.
If that's not it try on off/on off/on etc.0 -
If the above don't work it's possible that the old bulb blowing has damaged the PIR circuitry so a new lamp may be needed.0

Has to be either the PIR Settings, the sensor itself or the wiring to the light - so can have like On (using sensor), OFF, ON Permanently , OFF .. depending on how quick you turn the light off & back on again..
last time my bulb went I replaced the unit with a 5w LED Bulb unit, which is that cheap to have on that I don't mind if it did run 24/7...0 -

Check the sensor , I've recently had the same problem and there was water inside the PIR lens which must have been shorting it.0
