Help Please - Company Ceased Trading - alledgedly

I can't seem to find this scenario anywhere on the searches that I have done so far so I'm hoping somebody may be able to help.
I won't mention any names as this is a current dispute and the company has suddenly offered me an appointment tomorrow.
I paid money for cosmetic services received in July from clinic A which was owned by ltd company B. I was told I may need to return in future but at their expense.
Now they tell me that I will need to pay for further treatment as company B is no longer trading and clinic A is now owned by ltd company C.
Companies House search has no dissolved or ceased trading against company B.
Where do I now stand with this? I paid my money to A and have no documentation mentioning B and it would be great to know what I can and can't expect from them.

I assume if company b is not dissolved then C must have bought them out? I would wait and see anyway what they have to say tomorrow0

I think so but does that mean that the clinic still has a duty of care to me?0

If they have been bought you would assume all liabilities were bought also, which includes patients still requiring treatment.0

See what today brings, but you do get a lot of sharp practice in this sector. If it's one of the laser eye places for instance some of their practices are questionable in the name of dodging lawsuits, other sectors will have their own similar practitioners.0
