Refund for faulty lights

Hi
I bought 3 uplighters from ebay. One wasn't working but the other 2 were fine. I told the seller this but then later on I tried the suspected faulty element into one of the good working one and it blew it up so I now have 2 faulty lights and the seller will only replace one as I broke the other.
Is this correct? Was I not right to assume that maybe what I thought was a faulty component could have worked in the non faulty light?
Thanks for reading
Sam

Yes they are right, you knew you had a faulty element and destroyed the second uplight with it, that was self inflicted.

I would agree with Bris.. you damaged the unit by placing a part that was known to be faulty in it.

Maybe ask the seller if he can sell you a replacement at a reduced price due to the issues you have had.
