Where's my 1st class letter :(

Didn't know where to post this thread so hope this section is OK!

Probably panicking prematurely here but I posted a letter at 07:30am yesterday morning on a main high street in South London - destination east Anglia.
A4 sized letter but only light. Put four 1st class stamps on it instead of a large letter stamp.


It didn't arrive today at destination.


Is anything likely to be wrong or is it relatively normal for 1st class letters not to come next business day these days?

It is not a guaranteed next day delivery service.

Royal Mail will not even consider a 'lost' claim until fifteen days have passed.

Probably turn up in the next day or two.

Not unknown for 2nd class letters to arrive before 1st class. Would the envelope fold through a letterbox?

Why did you put four first class stamps on it? It only needed 30p extra, paying more won't mean it gets there any quicker than paying the proper rate.
