in Credit cards
I had £800 on an MBNA credit card with a 0% rate until June 2014. In December I put an additional £2000 on the same card with a 0% rate until February 2015.
I've paid £500 off this card in the last few weeks and will be paying a further £300 at the end of the month. Therefore clearing the original £800- or so I'd assumed. Is that correct? Or will they reduce my recent payments to the newest usage?
I've read conflicting info and I'm confused so would really appreciate any help.

Where's the conflict?
You only need to check your T&Cs to see how your payments are allocated. If you don't have them to hand, you'll find some on the MBNA website.0 -
Fromm the responses I got about this, you clear the highest rate
First,
so you should of cleared the 800 as that rate ended soonest.
Worth ringing or checking with the provider though in case., but
I believe the ruling was changed on which balance takes priority
In which your payments go towards.
Im sure someone will conform this on here as there's lots of

Yes thats right. MBNA do allocate any payment to the higher interest rate first so you should be fine.0

You can always message them. In my experience their replies are helpful.0

I'm fairly sure that it is a legal requirement (or at least a code of practice requirement) for them to pay off the balance earning the highest interest first. I remember receiving a letter from a few different card companies about them changing the order of payments a while ago.0
