My heart sank on Sunday (19th January) when I learned that my journey on the Metropolitan line would be disrupted and I'd have to complete my journey on the replacement bus service.:(
The member of staff I spoke to at Baker Street station was very helpful and explained which line and station would be best to get me to my destination.
The replacement bus service was slower than the tube but otherwise okay. There were clear signs and notices to direct passengers to the bus stop. At every bus stop along the route there was a member of staff wearing a blue tabard. As the bus stopped, the staff member boarded the bus to loudly inform the passengers where they were, what the next bus stop would be and other travel information.
I know my journey was slower but I was very impressed with the TFL staff. They were friendly and helpful.

Usually I dread finding out replacement buses are replacing trains when engineering work is going on.
I wanted to travel to Dartford a couple of years ago & hadn't realised that the journey would be by replacement bus due to the engineering works.
I dreaded the journey, thinking it would take perhaps a couple of hours if traffic was bad instead of the 25 or so mins by train. However, I was the only passenger for the majority of the journey, the roads were pretty clear & I had a happy female driver who was singing away & laughing her head off for almost the whole journey. It was a really enjoyable ride & due to that I'm not so negative about replacement bus services now.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
