I have been claiming charges against Barclays for £3,000
They offered me £1800 but i turned them down
I filled in online court claim but they have filed a defence.
Then i had to fill in a questionaire and pay another £100
I have now received a letter from my local court saying that ..
the court has made this order of its own inititiative without a hearing.
that there are no reasonable grounds for bringing claim against the defendent.
andthat the fall of charges do not reflect the tru cost to Barclays is Not itself a basis for suing them.
Help. What do i do know??????
any advice!

Sorry to here your local court response
Can I suggest you file the claim with the Financial Ombudsman. Tell them of the cost you have also incurred. I hear the FO are charging banks £400 for every complaint about them in an effort to get the banks to sort themselves out. Link to FO siteGot It & Spent It :dance:IKEA CARD = £120 charges = £175 received (146%)MARBLES = £450 charges = £370 received (82%)I.F. = £494 charges = £494 received (100%)CAPITAL ONE = £981 charges = £1,489.03 (152%)BARCLAYCARD = £580 charges = £786.12 (136%)On Hold :mad:A+L = £722 charges (target = 147%)BARCLAYS = £1,405 charges (target = 128%)BARCLAYS = £175 charges (target = 140%)ABBEY = £3,220 charges (target = 148%)0 -
I may be wrong, but I don't think the FOS will take on a case that has been to court and lost. You can take your case to court after the FOS ( if not successful,) but not court then the FOS.0

Izzy is correct. To quote Martin's article: "if you have already been to court and have lost you’re not usually allowed to then take your case to the FOS afterwards."Reclaimed thanks to this site:

Is there anything else said in the letter that would give you a chance to sort out your claim? Have they given you and the bank 7 days to reply to this?0
