Leak from upstairs neighbours wastepipe

Hi all,

just asking some advice here:

at the weekend the neighbours'' waste pipe from their upstairs bathroom burst and was shut off after about an hour.
Neighbours' bathroom is directly above our bathroom.

Seeing as the Neighbours' waste pipe was only shut off after about 60mins therefore we had contaminated water falling through the ceiling and then through the false ceiling and through the down lights onto the bathroom floor.

The neighbour has already agreed to pay for all the damages.

I am just unsure how to proceed with this as I have never dealt with this sort of thing before.

Any help much appreciated.

Regards

BD

:( Dear oh dear, just get someone in to do the repairs and give your neighbour the bill, or get them to get someone in themselves :(
