Mountain bike frame bent

Hi really getting frustrated, I bought a mountain bike from eBay and seller did not want to provide postage but would be happy if I arranged a pick up using a courier. I used directcouriersolutions.co.uk. I could see by the photos that the bike is as new. So when the bike arrived the seat and chain stays were badly bent. I have contacted the couriers and they wanted photos of damage which I has supplied. And now I don't get any response from them as if they are ignoring me. I paid 7 pound for insurance with the courier company on top of the bill which was 55 quid all in from England to n.ireland. What do I do to escalate this and what legs do I have to stand on?

There is a phone number on the website. Have you tried to call?0

I have.. 4 times now and just been told the fella dealing with it is on another call0

In that case I would leave a message advising that if you don't receive a call back by the end of the day the next communication will be a notice of legal action (a letter before action). If they still don't respond to the letter you would need to issue a small claims action.0

I managed to get through .. Just kept ringing and ringing, he's referring it to the claims department but says they might not accept the claim as I have signed for the box0

From MSE's Failed delivery article:Signing for an item just means it's been delivered. You're not signing on the quality of the item delivered. So even if you found any faults or issues after signing for the delivery, you still have the same rights as with any faulty item.0 -
Is there any article number that I can quote to the company in case they do try to pull the wool over my eyes?0

Not sure what you mean by article number, but clicking on the blue text in my earlier post will take you to the complete document.
Hope that helps.0 -
The issue is that the courier will have had packaging guidelines and as you did not pack it can you be sure those guidelines were met? Also, a photo of a bike that was perfect at some point in the past is not the same as knowing it was perfect when it was packed.
I think you have just found the drawback in buying a collection item and supplying your own courier.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hi . The pics are time and date stamped as he took them just before taking the bike apart to fit into a bike box that came with the bike.
All the requirements were is that the box does not exceed a certain size.
I spoke with the man from the couriers and he said the only issue is the fact that I had signed for the bike.
What I mean by article number is like a reference number to point to this.
Many thanks to all who are advising me.. Means a lot. Thanks0
